President

Brent is a life-long resident of Texas, born in Tarrant County and is married with 4 children. Brent grew up in the Western Hills North neighborhood. He has owned a home here since 1984. Brent attended Western Hills H S and graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.

Brent has held significant management positions in the Oil & Gas sector involving Business and Commercial management, Business Development and Sales & Marketing departments. His roles gave him experience in contracts, finance, legal and organizational management. Additionally, he has experience in project management, real-estate and construction management. In the course of an ongoing career he has traveled throughout North America and internationally.

Brent's personal interests include politics, history, and outdoor activities. He is committed to continued improvements in our neighborhood and surrounding areas in order to promote public safety, quality of live and to preserve property values.

Steve White, B. A.

Vice-President

Steve White relocated to Fort Worth from Fresno, California in 1989 for career at General Dynamics. Currently Mechanical Engineer on F-35 program working in a project engineering capacity. Moved to WHN in January 2001 as a homeowner. Steve's Interests and hobbies are his dogs, theatre/music system and home workshop. He has 40+ years experience with working German shepherd dogs with primary focus on personal protection and security work. Steve has a college degree in Theatre Arts, technical lighting and sound – Certified Theater Technician. He is widely experienced in professional audio and lighting systems to include churches, clubs and professional sound reinforcement. Steve really likes the neighborhood, house styles trees, and of course the people.

Vanessa Odom Machen, M.Ed., REALTOR, GRI, ABR, CRMS

Vanessa was born in Alabama and lived there until 1990 when she moved to Grapevine, TX. She has lived on the west side of Fort Worth since 2005. In 2014, Vanessa purchased a home in Western Hills North in 2014. In Alabama, she taught high school (Spanish & French), private piano, and served as ADHOC Professor at University of Alabama in Birmingham.

Beginning in 1985, Vanessa was a sales manager for 11 southern states and managed up to 17 sales people and support staff for approximately 10 years until she obtained her real estate license in 1995 from Texas Real Estate Commission. She holds several advanced designations in real estate. Currently, Vanessa is an Adjunct Professor of Spanish at Tarrant County Community College, yet she continues to works full-time in real estate.

Vanessa has played piano or organ for various churches for over 50 years, and, currently plays piano for the Maranatha Baptist Church in Fort Worth. She is the mother of one son, USMC-RET, and, grandmother to five sparkling grand-children. She has nurtured 2 Arabian horses for 18 years, and recently acquired a McCurdy Plantation Racking horse. She enjoys opera & symphony events, gardening, sewing, history, politics.

Bobbye Jo Hudson, B.BA

Treasurer

Bobbye Jo Hudson is a Fort Worth native and has lived in Western Hills North for 36 years and counting. She has been Treasurer for numerous organizations/non-profits over the years, including: Partners in Prayer, Inc. (2002-2011), Arlington Heights Dance Guild (1998-2003), Bluebonnet Applied Learning Academy PTA (1994-1998), Western Hills Elementary PTA (1988-1994), Thistle Hill Docent Guild (1977-1983), and, of course, Western Hills North Neighborhood Association (2009 to present). I am a graduate of Texas Wesleyan College (BBA). She has been a working member of the Television Ministry at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth since 1975 (41 years). She and her husband, Barry, have 3 grown, married daughters and 2 precious grandchildren.

Peggy Carr, B.A. Education

Parliamentarian

Serves as Parliamentarian and oversees Crime Watch.  Peggy graduated from the University of Texas and taught school for 25 years in both the Fort Worth and Weatherford Public Schools.   Peggy and her husband bought a house on Cortez Drive in 1988.  She is active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and Women’s Shakespeare at the Woman’s Club.  Peggy and her husband, Wes, were instrumental in organizing the Western Hills North Neighborhood Association in the early 1990s.  She has also served as a Past-President of WHNNA.

Melissa McCrae

Director, Beautification Committee

Melissa McCrea's interest in gardening blossomed while employed at Wolfe Nursery where she earned a Texas Certified Nurseryman designation followed by the completion of the Texas Master Gardeners Program through the Texas Agricultural Extension Service. Looking to integrate her love of cooking with horticulture she began culinary classes at El Centro Community College in Dallas. To further her education she joined the Navy in '93 as a Mess Management Specialist during which she managed the Admiral's Flag Mess for the Commander of the Naval Reserves in New Orleans and was instrumental in the mass feeding of military personnel after the Katrina hurricane. Following her discharge, she attended the Culinary School of Fort Worth where she completed the Gastronomy and Kitchen Management Program. Currently, she volunteers for the Tarrant Area Food Bank learning garden, Meals on Wheels and occasionally caters small events.

Tina's background is in information technology. Her specialties are system and network administration, support, software administration, documentation and training. She enjoys photography, digital graphic design, web design, woodworking, gardening, cooking and various crafts in her free time.

Tina is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of DeVry University. Tina holds a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management degree. She currently holds positions on the City of Fort Worth’s Internet Citizens Advisory Team and Western Hills United Methodist Church, and has previously been a member of the Lockheed Martin Leadership Association, Arlington Heights High School Band Boosters, Western Hills Elementary School PTO and J.O. Davis Elementary School (Irving) PTA, Nextdoor Lead, as well as various specialized social media groups, like photography.

Tina has three children, Tristan (21), Paxtyn (19) and Ashton (12), and is married to Chester, who also provides computer support. Tina grew up in Texarkana, Texas but has lived in Fort Worth for seventeen years. They have five pets: a black lab mix dog, Hank; an orange tabby cat, Kitty; a lionhead rabbit, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup (aka., Reese) a dwarf hamster, Kaz, and are fostering their son's mackerel tabby cat, Leona. They are active members at Western Hills United Methodist Church and have lived in Western Hills North almost eleven years.
